Gaia Retreat & Spa has been voted by the public as Australia’s Leading Wellness Retreat at the 2024 World Travel Awards.

Co-founded in 2005 by Olivia Newton-John, Gaia Retreat & Spa is an internationally recognised retreat and spa nestled on 20 acres in the Bundjalung Country hinterland of Byron Bay in New South Wales.

Gaia was purchased by Andrew and Nicola Forrest’s private investment group Tattarang in 2021 and is now managed by its wholly owned property company Fiveight.

Set across eight hectares of pristine hinterland with views of the Byron Bay and Ballina coastline, Gaia boasts 22 luxury rooms and suites, a restaurant, large lounge area and deck, retail boutique and reception.

Gaia’s General Manager Emily Griffin said the team was grateful for the vote of confidence in the experience they are delivering.

“We are humbled by the overwhelming response from our industry and the public who recognised the effort that goes into creating such one-of-a-kind experiences at Gaia,” she said.

Dedicated to holistic wellness, Gaia provides restorative spaces, facilities and professional guidance to enable a focus on self, and to nurture relaxation, health and wellbeing. Gaia is considered a safe sanctuary and natural haven where individuals, couples and groups of like-minded people can have experiences curated specifically for them.

These experiences vary from two to seven nights, and continually evolve to meet the needs of wellness for people in different stages of their life. Gaia packages include an extensive range of health, spiritual and beauty services, activities and treatments.
