SFM Marine will incorporate The Boat Business’ dedicated marine servicing and sales teams into its comprehensive boat lifting and marine maintenance operations to create a true one-stop-shop for all boating requirements.

SFM Marine spokesman, Matthew Neal said a new showroom and workshop facility is currently under development at SFM’s North Fremantle location ahead of an official opening to the public later this year.

The showroom and workshop will sell and support both Suzuki Marine and Mercury outboard products, offering a wider choice across the leading brands in the industry direct to recreational and commercial customers.

“This is an exciting announcement not just for customers of SFM and The Boat Business, but all vessel owners and managers in Perth,” Mr Neal said.

“Our vision is to create one of Western Australia’s most comprehensive marine service precincts meaning we can offer our customers a full range of services in one destination, including boat lifting, fabrication, storage, repair and refurbishment plus servicing, equipment purchase and even custom boat design and construction from our dedicated boatbuilding division.

“Over the past 18 years, The Boat Business has established a strong reputation as one of the most professionally operated marine service centres in the State, with a customer base that stretches across the State. We are excited to bring our two teams together to grow even further.”

Mr Neal said SFM Marine was pleased that all mobile and workshop capabilities offered by The Boat Business, including its staff and management teams, will be retained along with new expertise added.

The Boat Business founders Shelley Shorto and Mark Shorto said integration with SFM Marine represented an exciting new phase of growth for the company they founded almost two decades ago.

“After 18 years of being a dedicated Mercury service centre in WA, integration with SFM Marine’s existing operations will allow the business to continue to grow and ensure our exceptional customer service continues to benefit boat owners across the State,” Mr Shorto said.

“Now as part of the SFM Marine family, we’re committed to building on this legacy and offering all of our customers a new level of convenience with all marine services, sales and support now under one roof.”

SFM Marine operates Western Australia’s premier lifting, maintenance, and sales facilities with two sites strategically located within the Australian Maritime Complex, Henderson and in North Fremantle.

Facilities across the two sites include three vessel lifters capable of lifting small vessels through to 200 metric tonnes across a combined 40,000sqm of land and 17,000sqm of seabed lease. Both sites have ramp facilities and contain enclosed sheds for refit work, fabrication facilities, engineering workshops and paint facilities

Clients range from small recreational users to large luxury vessels, military, government and commercial.
